Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ClassSeats™, a classroom management application. By accessing or using ClassSeats, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the application.
These Terms are entered into between you and ClassWare Solutions, LLC ("we," "us," or "our").
1. Description of the Service
ClassSeats is a classroom management tool designed for educators. It allows users to create and manage seating charts, student groupings, attendance records, and related classroom organization data.
ClassSeats operates as a local-first application. Classroom data is stored on the user’s device and, if the user chooses to enable it, within the user’s own Google Drive account for cross-device synchronization. ClassWare Solutions, LLC does not operate backend servers that store classroom data or student records.
ClassSeats may operate minimal backend infrastructure for anonymous usage telemetry and optional email-based license management. This infrastructure does not store classroom content, student records, file names, or seating data.
2. Eligibility
ClassSeats is intended for use by educators and other authorized school personnel. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of ClassSeats complies with your school, district, or organizational policies.
3. User Data and Privacy
Your use of ClassSeats is subject to the ClassSeats Privacy Policy, which describes how information is handled in connection with the application.
- ClassWare Solutions, LLC does not sell or monetize user data.
- Classroom data remains under the user’s control.
- ClassWare Solutions, LLC does not operate servers that store student data.
You are responsible for safeguarding access to your device and, if used, your Google account.
4. Anonymous Usage Telemetry and Identity
ClassSeats may generate a random installation identifier stored on the user’s device for the purpose of measuring active installations and improving reliability.
If Google Drive sync is enabled, ClassSeats may store a small identity file within the user’s ClassSeats Google Drive folder containing only a randomly generated teacher identifier and creation timestamp. This file does not contain classroom data.
ClassSeats may also offer optional email verification (magic link) to allow educators to secure entitlement status, restore purchases, or preserve trial access across devices.
Email verification is not required to access existing classroom data stored locally or in Google Drive.
5. Optional Google Drive Sync
Google Drive integration is optional. If enabled by the user, ClassSeats uses the Google Drive API with the
drive.file scope. This scope limits access to files created by ClassSeats or explicitly selected by the user.
- ClassSeats does not request broad Google Drive access.
- Users may disconnect Google Drive at any time within the app.
- Disconnecting Google Drive stops Drive access; the app continues to function using local storage.
Google Drive is a trademark of Google LLC.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use ClassSeats only for lawful purposes and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
You agree not to:
- Attempt to access data that does not belong to you
- Reverse engineer, disrupt, or interfere with the application
- Use the application in violation of applicable laws or regulations
7. Fees and Pricing
ClassSeats may be offered in free and paid tiers. Current pricing and availability are described within the application or on the official website.
8. Availability and Changes
ClassSeats is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation. Features may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClassSeats is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClassWare Solutions, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the application.
You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data.
Because classroom data is stored locally or in the user’s own Google Drive, users are solely responsible for maintaining access to their devices and Google accounts.
